DIY - Pumpkin Frills!

Here's a fun tutorial on how to make a cute ribbon embellished pumpkin for your home...

I found the creamy, white faux pumpkins on sale for $4 at the Poway Michaels. Then, rather than buy more embellishments, I pulled the lace, ribbons and ric rac from the collections I already owned and went to town.

Using sewing pins, I attached the ribbon to the top of the pumpkin close to the stem and wrapped it down around the bottom of the pumpkin and then up the opposite side.

My 9 year old daughter got in on the action too. All in all, I think we used about 30 pins.

Besides the black ric rac, I decided to use ribbon that coordinated with other colors in my home. Alexis found the light blue sheer polka dot ribbon. Too cute!

Next, around the stem, cut and pin all sorts of different ribbons to add some flair. This sweet project took us about 15 minutes. It was a fun project to work on together too. Easy peasy! Simple and fun.

School Picture Day!

Picture day at school = a fun morning + a quick photo op before heading out the door. With pretty smiles, hair curled, and accessories picked out... both girls are happy and picture-savvy.

 

9 Months and Counting!

Cade's about to turn 9 months old! He's sporting 4 teeth, a happy grin, and beautiful gray, blue eyes. He brings us so much joy.

Coronado Beach

Our girls love family time at the beach, especially with their cousins. The discovery of a long stripe of seaweed quickly turned a stroll along Coronado into a fun jump rope contest.

Someone is almost 8!

Lexi will be turning 8 and getting baptized soon. We took some special pictures of her yesterday for her invites. I had lots of fun making her flower belt and other accessories for this photo shoot. It was a beautiful day. The lighting was perfect!

Home School Preschool

It is so fun to watch Cali playing with her cousin. The two of them have a grand ol' time together, especially at our little home school preschool 3 times a week.
This past week, they studied the letter "B", colored butterfly masks, blew bubbles, made bumble bee necklaces, baked brownies, and rode bikes together. Along with kindergarten readiness, wonderful memories are being made this year.

Tutu Twirls

Several of my friends make adorable tutus for their girls. I decided to give it a whirl... Cali came with me to the fabric store and we rummaged up and down the tulle and organza aisle together until our cart was full of pretty colors. She LOVED all the teal and blues!



Lexi's dance studio colors are purple and black, so we decided to surprise her with a tutu made in these colors. So fun!
